Community Guidelines

Last updated: September 2026

Theophany exists to be a peaceful, faithful, and encouraging space for Orthodox Christians and those sincerely exploring the faith. These guidelines describe how we treat one another here. They apply to all profiles, posts, comments, messages, groups, works, and ministry pages.

Our Shared Spirit

  • Charity first. Speak the truth in love. Disagree with ideas, never attack people.
  • Reverence. This is a sacred space. Approach conversations with prayerfulness and humility.
  • Hospitality. Welcome newcomers and those exploring Orthodoxy with patience and kindness.

What We Welcome

  • Scripture, patristic writings, liturgy, lives of the saints, and theological discussion.
  • Prayer requests and mutual encouragement.
  • Parish, ministry, and work coordination.
  • Charitable initiatives and faithful businesses shared through Ministry Pages.

What Is Not Allowed

  • Hate speech, harassment, bullying, or personal attacks against any person or group.
  • Profanity, vulgarity, or sexually explicit content.
  • Disrespectful or mocking treatment of clergy, monastics, saints, or sacred things.
  • Promotion of schism, violence, or teachings contrary to the Orthodox Christian faith presented as Orthodox teaching.
  • Spam, scams, unsolicited fundraising, or misleading ministry claims.
  • Sharing private messages or personal information without consent.

Discussion Across Jurisdictions

Theophany welcomes Orthodox Christians of all canonical jurisdictions. Debate between traditions can be fruitful when done with respect. Do not present your jurisdiction's distinctives as a reason to disparage others.
